Paid Summer Internship Opportunities

Attention Classes of 2013 and 2014!

We are pleased to announce the following paid summer internship opportunities, all of which have guaranteed spots for Rutgers-Newark students:

Cybersecurity Project Internships (#8083 in Symplicity): 
Summer Interns will be placed in prosecutors’ offices will be exposed to general prosecutorial practices, with an emphasis on online predator, bullying, and pornography issues. To broaden students’ backgrounds, all students will attend a mandatory Cybersecurity CLE training program at Seton Hall Law School on May 30 (this will be an evening program), and they will attend a day-long training program, also at Seton Hall Law School, on May 31. They will also participate in several informational field trips over the summer.  DEADLINE: January 20, 2012

Human Trafficking Prevention and Prosecution Project (#8082 in Symplicity): 
Summer Interns will be placed in a county prosecutor’s office, where they will be exposed to general prosecutorial practices, gaining some familiarity on human trafficking and related issues but will not handle such cases on a daily basis. The Human Trafficking Prevention and Prosecution Project will supplement Summer Interns’ experiences with (required) a two-day training on May 29 and 30, informational field trips and regularly scheduled roundtable discussions, with the goal of helping students learn how human trafficking is handled in each county, to assess the challenges in seeking prosecution, to identify vulnerable communities, and to introduce students to advocacy organizations. Students will be paired, two per county office, and will be required to prepare a research and resource memo outlining their findings.  DEADLINE: January 30, 2012

2012 Proskauer Rose Public Interest Fellowships (#8124 in Symplicity): 
The Newark, NJ office of Proskauer Rose LLP has created a public interest fellowship program for students at Rutgers School of Law - Newark. There are two spots available for for the summer of 2011 with a $5,000 stipend for each student to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks at Volunteer Lawyers for Justice.  DEADLINE: January 31, 2012
